What is it about?
Abstract Background: With the increased prevalence in major depressive disorder worldwide, rehabilitative strategies offer a way to improve the quality of life of people with major depressive disorder. This is a bibliometric analysis, rather than a systematic review, as the Worldcat dissertations and clinical trials offer a current snapshot as to the state of major depressive disorder rehabilitation strategies hence the PRISMA guidelines were not adhered to nor was a PROSPERO review protocol necessary. Aims: A bibliometric study of major depressive disorder attempts to develop rehabilitation strategies to help patients function while also attempting to give greater clarity as to how to manage major depressive disorder. Methods: A collection of selected major depressive disorder dissertations and clinical trials for WorldCat and clinicaltrials.gov respectively, offers evidence as to the existing state of rehabilitative strategies for major depressive disorder. Results: Manual therapy as well as library resources offer novel rehabilitative strategies for major depressive disorder. Conclusions: Libraries serving as intermediaries is an important adjunctive research for major depressive disorder and offers a springboard for additional studies into rehabilitative strategies for major depressive disorder.
