Why is it important?

The workplace insecurity of female garment workers in Bangladesh mainly includes harassment, accidents and injuries, frequent outbreak of fire, and health hazards. Female workers are comparatively more harassed as they are less reactive and easily manageable. Generally, the woman worker experiences harassment at workplace at the hands of their supervisors, factory managers and owners. The nature of harassment includes among others teasing, scolding coupled with rough behavior, pronouncing sex encounter words, proposing sexual relationship, coercion, etc. Garment workers often encounter injuries at the time of switching. They are frequently fired from jobs by the managers without valid reasons
