What is it about?
There is various positive outcome due to COVID-19 on the environment. In this paper, we discuss the positive and negative impact of the lockdown. Why is it important?
According to a study published in Lancet Planetary Health, India's toxic air itself claimed 1.24 million lives in 2017. In the year 2019, India itself accounted for around half of the world's 50 most polluted cities, according to Swiss firm IQAir, by the emissions of Industry, vehicle exhausts and coal-fired plants. As a result of complete lockdowns, most of the big cities and economic capitals of India has registered the shallow Air Quality Index values from an acceptable level to comfortable level for the last month. The above interesting pattern motivated us to study various factors related to air quality index, air pollution, various contributors, AQI before and after the lockdown. The key goal of this article is to elaborate on the recent improvement in the air quality index around India’s major cities. Also, to find the resolution or the possible ways to retain this improved AQI level in the coming days.
