What is it about?

Turbomachinery is an essential part of many industrial processes, from small combustion engines to large nuclear power plants. The efficient management of turbomachines is a complex task because of many parameters to consider, such as flow, pressure, system boundary conditions, etc. Several research studies have been conducted in this direction in order to propose optimal management models. In our study, we have developed an optimization model for turbomachinery management. The model developed is based on genetic algorithms, it saves the energy consumed by turbomachines, and it ensures the proper hydraulic operation of the entire pumping system. The application of the model on the Sidi Aich Ighaouzene drinking water pumping station in the Bejaia wilaya has shown that the model has saved about 14.4% of the cost of energy operation compared to the continuous pumping used. by the water services.
