Why is it important?

Assessment has always been used for testing, this paper advocates using it for learning. It also touches upon 21st century teaching strategies like flipped teaching in higher education. This paper adds to teaching and learning pedagogy as it includes a robust discussion about both assessment and teaching in a modern sense for higher education institutions in Egypt.

Perspectives

I am CELTA certified and have 2 international certification in Assessment. This paper was the product of realising that many of us as academics are not trained to use assessment in ways other than testing.
