What is it about?

The article studies the way of representing the territory and its relief in a selection of maps of different regions of Europe during the first half of the Renaissance.

Why is it important?

It is interesting the conclusions that are obtained about the different characteristics that differentiate the ways of mapping in the different modern European nations, as well as the points in common in the way of representing the relief.

Perspectives

The developed research allows to advance in the knowledge of the history of the representation of relief in the European cartography of the sixteenth century and the first half of the seventeenth.
