Why is it important?

It is being increasingly recognised that written communication plays an important role in the accounting profession. Despite this, the general levels of communication apprehension towards writing tend to be high. While oral communication apprehension has received a great deal of attention, written communication apprehension has not. Rather than simply assess levels of written communication apprehension experienced by students, this study explores the specific reasons given by students for feeling apprehensive about essay writing.

Perspectives

This paper demonstrates how varied the reasons might be for students feeling nervous about writing at university.
