What is it about?
Integrity is an integral part of university education system. We have shown for the first time that if the Muslim education system of Islamic golden period is examined, it can serve as a great motivator for University administrators of today in their quest for a university of integrity.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that a successful and progressive university must take into consideration integrity in different aspects of its dealings in order to produce quality graduates. Thus, modelling contemporary Muslim universities along the pattern of past Middle Age period university are much more likely to lead to integrity in university than previously appreciated.
Perspectives
Writing this article was indeed pleasurable as it led to working with co-authors some of whom have helped in improving my knowledge in research methods. This article also has implication for the development of higher institutions of learning and in portraying an image of stability and positive change through education.
