What is it about?

The study is about the biochemical analysis of fresh semen of the endangered fin fish species of Deccan mahseer, Tor khudree and also studies on the cellular level changes that might occur during cryo-preservation of spermatozoa.

Why is it important?

The study is important on three counts- 1) It brings out the biochemical composition of the semen of endangered mahseer, Tor khudree 2) It throws light on the ultrastructure of the fresh spermatozoa of T. khudree 3) It also reveals the ultrastructural changes which took place during the cryopreservation-thawing cycle

Perspectives

The study brings out the biochemical composition of fresh semen, ultrastructure of fresh spermatozoa and the ultrastructural changes in the spermatozoa due to freeze-thaw cycle
