Why is it important?
The presented quantile analysis of costs is a universal method that can be applied to any fleet of public transport vehicles.
Perspectives
Having a database of reliability, as well as operation and service costs obtained from the public transport vehicle fleet maintenance documentation (trams operated by a large city operator), one may identify the most cost-generating parts and determine a series of significant reliability characteristics useful in the planning of future fleet operation.
