What is it about?
The main focus of the paper is the analysis of the level, structure and effects of FDI in the form of M&A into the banking sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The research showed positive effects of growing levels of M&A in banking, but at the same time gaps and problems that B&H still faces. The results are compared with the results of other countries of Western Balkan.

Why is it important?
Findings confirmed positive effects of mergers and acquisitions in banking sector in B&H but also negative effects on the level of competition in the sector and consequently negative effects on the banking service quality. Other regional countries were also the topic of interest and comparative results are presented.
Perspectives
The study is important as the prove of problems that concentration in banking sector can create many problems and challenges for the economy and customers
