What is it about?
The (FS-ADS) scale as well as the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) were administered to 171 nurses as well as non graduate professional caregivers caring for people with dementia in nursing homes. Strong correlations were found between the stigma that caregivers place upon their patients with dementia and the burnout they experience. The findings favor the use of FS-ADS in nurses and professional caregivers for measuring stigma in dementia.

This validation is important as it found that the scale is a reliable research tool measuring stigma in professional caregivers along with family caregivers that it was originally constructed for.
Perspectives
The validated greek translation of the specific on dementia stigma questionnaire can be used in assesment of educative programs targeting at changing negative attitudes of health professionals towards dementia.
