What is it about?
Antenatal education is important as it supports expectant parents in developing their knowledge, skills, and confidence in preparing for childbirth and early parenting. This paper reports the experiences of participants and antenatal education providers.

Why is it important?
Findings revealed that to meet the needs of class participants, educators need to be mindful of their expectations. They should adopt a flexible approach to education that accommodates participant knowledge, goals, and preferences.
Perspectives
Sharing the journey of participants in this study was an absolute pleasure. The importance of maternal health literacy should not be underestimated when providing antenatal education in a contemporary connected society.
