Why is it important?
It was important to understand the base knowledge of the lactation consultant in the musculoskeletal field and how it affects breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is a mechanical action so if the mechanics do not work well the baby can not breastfeed efficiently.
Perspectives
This was the ending of a project for a master thesis and it did teach me that what lactation consultant knew about musculoskeletal issues but that they were not always apt to recognize them or when to refer.
