What is it about?

Why is it important?

7 out of 10 Medicare Beneficiaries have more than 2 chronic conditions. This demographic represents the largest, fastest growing and costliest patient population. There are multiple federal initiatives targeting improved care and management for this complex patient.

Perspectives

This is the 2nd study evaluating nursing self perceived knowledge with actual knowledge. This study was performed in undergraduate nursing students and the investigators wanted to analyze the difference between undergraduate and graduate nursing students in their final year of preparation. The findings are similar and significantly point to improved understanding and implementation of best evidence to ensure optimal patient centered outcomes.
