What is it about?
The Children's Version of the Herth Hope Index (HHI-C) was designed to provide a simple, 9 item index to assist teachers, youth workers, health care providers, researchers, and others in the assessment of the multidimensional aspects of hope in a child and evaluate the effectiveness of hope-enhancing strategies.

Why is it important?
The HHI-C is timely given need to assess the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on children and to move forward on development of strategies to positively impact a child's hope level.
Perspectives
The development of the HHI-C followed numerous requests by researchers and clinicians for a children's version of my Herth Hope Index and Herth Hope Scale, both of which measure hope in adults and have been translated into 38 languages and used throughout the world.
