Why is it important?
The needs of people who are refugees are urgent and long term, meeting these needs, both the urgent and the longer-term ones, will aid their engagement with the societies in which they finally settle, in a humane manner and addressing their rights.
Perspectives
Working with people who are refugees and who are in a vulnerable position affirmed my own understanding that anyone could be in such a position should circumstances dictate it. It is a humane decision to help and provide support, and to advocate both with them and on their behalf.
