What is it about?

We consider how collaborations between academics and practitioners can be undertaken using Sanno's 2019 Knowledge Foundation Model as applied to the Australian nonprofit Disability Services sector. This is discussed in the context of a three-way collaboration between two academic institutions and industry partners

Why is it important?

We provide a practical example of how this was undertaken and identify the benefits to the collaborators. This is an important issue given the contextual environment of the disability services sector who, in Australia, are in the midst of rolling out the National Disability Insurance Scheme which is a once-in-a-generational change to the manner in which these services are provided to people with a disability

Perspectives

Writing this article provided me with a further opportunity to close the gap, in a small way, between academic theory and practice, in a way that adds value to both.
