What is it about?

The reproductive performance and milk yield of the Algerian Arbia goat, which has moderate prolificacy and low milk yield. To improve these traits, Algerian farmers often crossbreed local herds with the prolific Damascus breed. Knowing that, the reproductive performance of goats is influenced by genetic, environmental, and physiological factors. Progesterone assays and blood biochemical parameters are essential for evaluating fertility, physiological, metabolic, nutritional, health status, welfare, and productivity.
