Why is it important?

The data found in the study, confirm the results of previous studies in the literature, in which even the most recent constructions of health services, such as family health units, still maintain a sketch dedicated only to the man without disabilities, aesthetically and biologically within the standard expected by a society, disregarding and contradicting the SUS's principles and public service philosophy.

Perspectives

From this perspective, it is expected that the structure of the service will be reconfigured by valuing the participation and inclusion of people with special needs, in order to increase their autonomy in the search for health, and consequently to collaborate in the qualification and promotion of their self-care. With the results obtained in this study, which demonstrated the inattention regarding the disabled in UBS, it is intended to provide subsidies for the foundation of future research that seek beyond the aesthetics of the service, comfort and accessibility of individuals with different physical needs .
