Why is it important?
The widespread introduction of information technologies and services in the last one and a half to two decades has entailed natural innovative changes in the field of political communications, which combine the intentions of actors and the means of communication they use regarding power. First, transformation The algorithm of political communications is subjected: modification of channels and strategies of communicative interaction occurs against the backdrop of an increase in the intensity of information exchange. Secondly, in conditions of equal access to information flows, the previously considered optimal ratio of communicators and recipients changes towards an increase in the former. Competing for the attention of recipients, individual users of Internet technologies become independent actors in virtual political and communicative interaction, upsetting the traditional balance. And thirdly, the content of the information flow changes - alternativeness and multiplicity of information appear. It is at the stage of structuring the information flow and transmitting it from the virtual environment into everyday practice and vice versa that new substantive aspects of political communications appear.
Perspectives
In a situation of multiple digital resources and a competitive game for the information capital of a variety of communication actors, the political information flow in the conditions of digitalization is formed spontaneously. The characteristics of political communications, placed in the digital environment, allow us to trace the process of transformation of communication mechanisms for the use of power, evaluate strategies for maintaining political contacts and shaping the political agenda. This monograph is an attempt to comprehensively diagnose the tools and mechanisms of political communication in the context of digitalization.
