Why is it important?
Hyperglycemia in pregnancy may cause maternal as well as neaonatal complications which are preeclampsia/eclampsia in women and hypocalcemia in neonates
Perspectives
It is important to classify hyperglycemia clearly in order to determine it's severity and appropriate effective management to women who are pregnant.Early screening ,proper classification and immediate intervention will help to lower untoward outcome of hyperglycemia among the pregnant women in sub-Saharan Africa.
