What is it about?

This study presents a theoretical investigation for utilizing olive cake biomass as clean energy source. The chemical and physical properties of this biomass make it very seductive to use in heat generation through direct combustion. The generated heat can be used in electricity generation through a steam turbine.

Why is it important?

Olive cake biomass is an organic material resulted from olive oil-mill. The use of olive cake as energy source will both provide an acceptable disposal for the large volume of solid waste resulted from oil mills, and provide an environmentally friendly fuel, especially in terms of Sulfur.

Perspectives

I hope this short article will help in exploitation of new types of biomass. For that, the article was written using simple terminology and the results were presented in simple yet effective way to make it available for a wide range of audience.
