What is it about?

Current article analyses ways of interviewing in sport psychology. It includes a review of recent scientific interview protocols, a description of interview cases in private practice; in addition a discussion regarding efficiency and limitations of interview method is also discussed. Approaches to see the interview as the main and complementary method are discussed in details. The objective of the article is to show how an interview can reveal useful biographical facts, personality traits, growth and development of an athlete trajectory, and helpful in studying athletes's "inner world". This help to form a view among sport psychology professionals and students on the advantages and opportunities an interview in the area of sport psychology (research and practice). This method can be regarded as a tool of knowledge, but is also used as a preliminary interview before long-term or short-term therapeutic work. As one of the way to conduct an interview - a clinical interview, is introduced in the article. The article provides an established protocol for clinical interviews in the sport.
