What is it about?
Empathy as essential part of healthcare staff and patients relationship is alined with work ability. Stressful working conditions negatively affect the working ability of healthcare workers, which affects their empathy and ultimately leads to negative health outcomes.

Why is it important?
Loss of empathy leads to burnout syndrome, and on an individual level, health workers increase the risk of contracting chronic diseases, while burned-out health workers represent a long-term financial burden for society.
Perspectives
I hope that this work will draw attention to the importance of empathy both for the patient and for the healthcare worker himself, because the skill of empathy is a tool that can protect both interested parties.
