What is it about?
This study looked at how highly polluting companies in Galicia, Spain, handle communication during crises. By comparing data from 2014 and 2016, it found that many companies still lack proper crisis communication plans, which can harm their reputation and slow their response when problems happen.

Why is it important?
It is important because effective crisis communication helps companies respond quickly and clearly during emergencies, protecting their reputation and maintaining public trust. Without proper plans, companies risk confusion, delays, and greater damage to their image and operations when a crisis happens.
Perspectives
From my personal perspective, I believe that crisis communication is essential in highly polluting companies because they are more exposed to situations that can seriously damage their reputation and society’s trust. The lack of adequate plans generates unpredictability, delays, and lack of coordination, which can worsen the consequences of a crisis. Having prevention and response mechanisms in place allows for quick and effective action, protecting both the company’s continuity and its public image.
