What is it about?
This article speaks the poetic oracle of Isaiah 11. It argues that the shoot of Jesse though refers to a Davidic figure it subverts both the national as well as the imperial (Assyrian/ Persian) overtures. This poetical imagination counters effectively the imperial politics of the empire.
