What is it about?
It tries to understand the political concept of Buen Vivir, Sumak Kawsay, Good Life or Good Living as an integral political proposal that goes beyond the immediate needs of indigenous peoples. This is done with the creation of central dimensions of this concept. The dimensions of Buen Vivir of the indigenous movement allows for a comparision with the state-version of this concept.

Why is it important?
In the discussion of Buen Vivir, the distinction between the different actors that use that concept is generally not made or not developped adecuately. This makes comparisions between the actors and their usage complicated. This text reduced the complex concept to a set of general dimensions that allow generic comparisions, especially, with the concept used by the Ecuadorian state.
Perspectives
This is an important step in my reflection of this concept. This article allowed me to realize that the concept of Buen Vivir of the indigenous movement is not only different but opposed to the conceptualization by the state. It was the basis for a more radical text that is going to be published soon.
