What is it about?
The density of the aesthetic discourse of Günther Anders is well reconstructed in the volume entitled "Schriften zur Kunst und Film". Collected in this book are some of Anders' writings (some of them unpublished till now and taken from the Archive) composed over a very long period of time, from the mid-twenties to the end of the eighties, which testifies to his continuous and lasting interest in the visual arts, form the cinema to painting and sculpture. In the writings collected in this volume, with topics ranging from the development of film and its development, cities of art, the ambivalence of the media sphere.

Why is it important?
Günther Anders (born as Stern, 1902-1992) is mainly known to the general public as the philosopher of the atomic bomb, and as the thinker who theorized the concept of the obsolescence of the human being. In reality, his production is multifaceted and rich in literary, artistic and aesthetic motives. The paper aims to underline and disseminate this aspect of Anders' philosophy.
