The Med-Arb is an effective way to resolve the disputes in United States. Med-Arb has been widely used in the various areas such as entertainment, international commercial disputes and domestic cases in United States. This paper introduces the origin of Med-Arb and provide case studies of Med-Arb.

Why is it important?
In recent times, ADR landscape enters the quiet revolutionary stage. In former times, arbitration occupied the dominant position in ADR. However, the role of mediation emerges as an alternative to arbitration. The shortcoming of mediation lacks the enforecement of settement. The med-arb seems to provide the flexibility as well as finality in the procedure.
Perspectives
In recent times, med-arb or other variant of ADR emerges since arbitration is far from the original vision of flexibility and speed of resolution. I hope that this paper will contribute to the new paradigm of nexus of arbitration and mediation.
