What is it about?
GFRP nail constitutes a recent type of reinforcement for soil nailing. The paper shwos up the interest of numerical predictions as an assessment of experimental data obtained earlier on a scaled model of reinforced sand by a GFRP nail.

Why is it important?
How to build a numerical model where the all experimental issues are reproduced so that you can predict meaningfully the behavior of reinforced soil subject to pullout test.
Perspectives
Numerical modelling in geotechnical engineering requires a good knowledge of theoretical and experimental aspects especially of soil mechanics. Predictions using 3D modelling by Plaxis code is the next step of invertigation of reinforced slope by a group of nails
