What is it about?
As stated by the former ICE Climate Task Force, civil engineers are part of the problem for construction's contribution (17%) to greenhouse gas emissions. Engineers should assess the risks rather than ask for firm proof of heating. Addressing other UN sustainability goals or concentration on economic and social sustainability will not save lives once we reach 2°C of warming, when 10% of the world will have to move. Civil engineers should be assessing the risks to and from their short-term emissions.
