Aloina rigida (Hedw.) Limpr., Aloinella galeata Müll. Hal. var. andina (Delgad.) Delgad. & Schiavone, and A. cucullifera (Mitt.) Steere are new records for the flora of Argentina.

There are taxonomic, nomenclatural, and geographical issues that were partly resolved with collections from southern South America.

Perspectives

The association with local botanists permits the analysis of botanical material from remote areas which would not be available otherwise.
