Why is it important?

If researchers could be incentivized to deposit their peer-reviewed approved manuscripts on institutional repositories a giant step towards Open Access would be taken. BitViews provides one such incentive.

Perspectives

One of the signatories of the Budapest Open Access Initiative returns to the field of scholarly communication with a brand new project to speed up the dissemination of peer-reviewed research. A call to arms to librarians to take swift, individual, independent action. And with a unique funding mechanism to make BitViews happen.
