This article shows data from birth certificates collected in hospitals in Massachusetts. It allows us to analyze the health profile of Brazilian mothers who gave birth in the first decade of the 2000's.

Why is it important?
It is important because we have very little information on the health of Brazilian immigrants in Massachusetts and the U.S.
Perspectives
I wanted to know how Brazilian mothers compared to other women who gave birth in Massachusetts during the same period. The birth certificate data available in Massachusetts is unique because it asks for where the mother was born.
