What is it about?

This study evaluates the Chilean policy for transparency in municipalities, using the theory of social systems. This theory argues that public policies should respond to a society increasingly complex and diversified, with ever greater proximity to persuasion, dialog, and facilitation.

Why is it important?

The urgent call for a reformulation of the policies of transparency at the local scale in terms of first order interventions (e.g., command-and-control policy) . The reformulation should consider transparency both for citizens and municipal employees.

Perspectives

More research and rigorous knowledge to contribute to sustainable development (e.g., social welfare, inclusive and for future generations)
