What is it about?
During the Civil War and the first years of the dictatorship of General Franco, the regime that emerged from the coup d'état swept away any Republican trace from the Spanish society, especially in the pedagogical field. This text restores the expurgated version from the popular library donated by the Board of Pedagogical Missions in 1935 to the national school of a small town in the province of Pontevedra.

Why is it important?
This work allows us to document the filtering process that took place in public libraries, such as that perpetrated throughout the Nation by the participants of the coup d'état; To observe some characteristics of the orientation of the role that the teachers were forced to play, from that moment, in a violent scenario of social rupture, political persecution and ideological substitution.
