What is it about?

Soil bulk density is a critical physical property related to its resistance to cultivation and stability for constructions. Here, we measured and modeled its value in a set of tropical soils under native vegetation in Brazil.

Why is it important?

Here, we present a simple model to estimate bulk density for to a 1 m depth in these soils, which is a rare information across the literature.

Perspectives

I think this paper is important because it has a chart that illustrates clearly how mean bulk density of Oxisols differs from values of Ultisols, Inceptisols etc.
