Why is it important?
Understanding Ancient Indian approaches to/concepts of truth, reality and falshood is critical to interpretation of the texts of the period, yet too little attention has been given the issue, at least by Buddhist scholars.
Perspectives
Asking this kind of question, of course, invokes a seemingly uncrackable hermeneutic circle. Yet the question must be asked, and comparative studies of roughly contempory bodies of material may open up a few cracks.
