What is it about?

Different simulation approaches suitable to describe phenomena occurring among the phases, grains, and subgrains in metallic microstructures are shortly presented. Emphasis is laid on multi-physical models that are of special interest for industrial application. A personal outlook on future trends is additionally given.

Continuum modeling approaches are the only simulation approaches that are routinely used for time and length scales relevant to engineering applications.
