What is it about?

Titanium is a strategic material that is important for several applications, which makes it very attractive to apply a series of thermal treatments to modify its microstructure and therefore provide mechanical properties to measure.

Why is it important?

With the design of an innovative thermal treatment, a biphasic microstructure was obtained in the Ti-6Al-4V alloy, which presented improved mechanical properties for a good resistance to fatigue-corrosion, which gives it the appropriate characteristics for biomedical applications.

Perspectives

I hope that with this article more researchers from the area of materials join in order to carry out studies around biomaterials since I consider that there are currently very few options for a material to cover the requirements necessary for biomedical applications.
