What is it about?
This paper focuses on shading widows using methods such as the louver system and side-fins to eliminate radiant solar energy on the building hence explain the triggering of anti-insulation. It compares the amount of energy consumption on a non shaded building to that of a building with windows shaded and evaluates the impact of shading on anti-insulation.

Why is it important?
Building engineers can use findings from this this research and consider designing buildings with window shading to save energy in warm climates. Also, it is not advised to have large insulation in buildings as we have found out that even with shading the building still behaves in an anti-insulation way. An improved readership of the paper helps in aiding construction of buildings with a correct amount of insulation to reduce energy consumption of buildings.
Perspectives
The publication only touches on window shading . It carries on research on anti-insulation that was introduced to the world by Masoso and Grobler in 2008.
