What is it about?

Terrestrial laser scanning is becoming the main technique for the acquisition of spatial information in a variety of fields. High quality 3D models of objects have an important role in a variety of areas. To quickly derive higher levels of abstraction, primitive geometric shape detection is advisable. An algorithm based on random sample consensus is proposed for automated plane identification and plane segmentation from point clouds.
