What is it about?
Prediabetes is a high-risk stage for developing diabetes. Early detection of prediabetes is the smartest prevention to reduce the prevalence of diabetes, since prediabetes can reverse into normal blood glucose level. INA-PRISC is a simple prediabetes scoring system to identify people at high risk of developing diabetes in the future.

Why is it important?
Given the resourcing issues required for laboratory tests and the difficulty accessing such tests for rural and remote populations, the INA-PRISC only includes items that are easy to measure in primary care facilities, thereby increasing the feasibility of implementation.
Perspectives
Diabetes is a common, growing, serious, costly, but potentially preventable disease. I hope I can contribute to the prevention of diabetes by focusing on prediabetes.
