Characteristics of RSV epidemic
What is it about?
Bronchiolitis may cause severe respiratory insufficiency in infants and toddlers. Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is its most frequent infective agent. We analyzed the data of several RSV epidemic seasons and the data of patients in the 2014/15 season. RSV positive infants, who required intensive care therapy, were treated significantly longer at the ICU with bronchiolitis, than RSV negative infants.
