When studying the impact of gaming and social media use on adolescents' psychosocial wellbeing, it is of vital importance to differentiate between intensity of game and social media use and symptoms of addictive use. Whereas symptoms of addictive use showed to have clear negative effects on adolescents' psychosocial wellbeing, intensive use did not.

Perspectives
I hope this article will contribute to the ongoing discussion about whether or not gaming addiction and social media addiction should be regarded as formal (psychiatric) disorders, and thereby to the development of prevention and treatment programs.
