Conventional corneal transplantation had been ineffective in the patient with partial limbal stem cell deficiency (Case 1), highlighting the importance of SLET in the success of the second procedure, whose cause was not ocular burns.

Perspectives

The SLET technique was effective in repairing limbal insufficiency in the two cases presented and constitutes a possibility for others cases.
