What is it about?
Certain fungi are known to cause fertility problems in pigs and chickens, but little was known about their impact on cattle fertility. In this work, we demonstrate that a certain class of fungal toxin negatively affects the function of the ovaries in cows.

As dairy cow fertility is immensely important for the global dairy industry, these results warn us that fungal contamination of animal feed may have consequences for dairy farmers.
