What is it about?

Obesity predisposes to the development of insulin resistance, which depends on the increased ROS production and mitochondrial dysfunction. Exercise training prevents the development of insulin resistance and this can depend on its capacity to increase antioxidant defenses, but if training is associated with antioxidant supplementation the effects are not always additive. It finds that the combination of endurance and resistance trainings is more effective in increasing insulin sensitivity.
