What is it about?

Ultrasound is the best tool for the evaluation of thyroid nodules. This study evaluated the level of agreement between different clinicians when looking at the same images.

Why is it important?

The agreement in the description of single ultrasonographic features is quite low, but the application of modern classification systems may improve it.

Perspectives

Since the management of thyroid nodules relies more and more on ultrasound, a correct and consistent evaluation is really important. Better definitions and training are needed, as this work demonstrated.
